The shallow depth of field makes flower petals look like they were shot on a real macro setup, no fake background blur. Close-ups of my dog's nose fur came out crisp without that over-sharpened iPhone look.

I've been using this for close-up shots of my houseplants and the falloff into blur looks way more natural than my phone's built-in macro mode. It also tones down that over-sharpened look newer iPhones tend to add, which I didn't realize bothered me until I saw the difference.
