I was skeptical that squeezing the air out would make much difference, but my fleece layers flattened down to about a third of their usual size. The valve seals tight, no leaks, and I fit four bulky sweaters in the space two used to take.

My winter puffer took up half my carry-on before, but rolling it into the compression bag and pulling the air out flattened it to almost nothing. The valve seals tight too, no leaking overnight. Fit two fleeces and a jacket in one bag on my last trip.

I was skeptical about the air extraction thing, but squeezing the air out of my puffy jacket actually shrank it down to almost nothing in my carry-on. Flew to Denver with just a backpack and still had room for souvenirs coming home.
